The Parlour

I'm stopping by briefly, to inform you lovely lot of my recent obsession.

'The Parlour'
Veronica Varlows Online Tarot Class

Oh my!
It's been a crazy journey already, and I have only attended half of one session! Booked in for the next one this Saturday, and going to try and attend EVERY other one after that.

These online meetings are hosted by the gorgeous Veronica, and she walks you through the meanings of tarot cards, laying out spreads, reading for yourself, and reading for others. You can drop in and out of sessions as you wish, beginner to magic, or advanced in divination, there is something for everyone.

I've even ordered a new tarot deck (yes another one) to start this wonderful adventure with. It's The WILDWOOD TAROT deck, and I'm already head over heels for it.

Here's a link to the classes! Get your space now before it sells out;
Come join our 'Witchbaby' family!

This weeks class also features a giveaway...
Feeling lucky punk?

And here's a link to the last post I posted on tarot;

The Vegan Kind!

My fellow Vegans! This link above, may just change your life!
As a relatively new vegan (4 months) I am always on the look-out for inspiration and new finds. Things edible, as well as cruelty free cosmetics, and household products.

 This is where The Vegan Kind comes in!

So what exactly is this all about?
    - Once a month for the cheap price of £12.95 (including p+p) the team at TVK will pack up a box of vegan goodies and send it to yourselves! The box will contain between 5 - 8 products all amounting to over £10 in value. But you can find out all the details by following the link.
 I'm really here to share my review of my first box TVK#7!

  In this box, we have;
Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps
Wholeplus Hot Pot
BIO D - Laundry Liquid
Scoffs Chocolate Fudge
Dormouse Tea Company Jasmine Loose Leaf
Golden Apply Raw Biscuits

So I love the sound of literally everything in this box. And what was even better was I'd never heard of nearly all of these companies and products.
 The Laundry Liquid from BIO D, I had tried before a long, long time ago. But I was happy to see a sample in this box, as it's good stuff.

 The tea. I am a huge tea drinker! I have so much tea it's unreal, and I am a firm believer in loose leaf tea. Silly old tea bags just can't compare to whole leaf taste. I'd never tried The Dormouse Tea Companys tea before, but I had tried jasmine. The handy little DIY tea bags that were also placed in the box, made life SO much easier. I whipped up a quick cuppa, and sat out in the garden.
 Jasmine tea is one I've found to best be enjoyed in the fresh air, after brewing for about 3 minutes...I find any longer, can bring on a bitter side to floral tea.
  I did enjoy the tea, it didn't blow my socks off, but it was definitely enjoyable and pleasantly refreshing.

Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps were lush! For the past month or so I've been learning the magic of what one can do with sweet potatoes, and these just helped inspire that even further. I think the Piri-Piri flavouring here, helped balance against the sweetness of the potato itself. I thoroughly enjoyed the crisps, and it made a nice change to my usual pom bears ;)

This Organic Raw Biscuits, were the only thing in the box I did not like. They were peppermint and hazelnut flavoured - but this wasn't the problem. Usually I enjoy peppermint-y snacks. My issue with these was the texture! It is a texture I've never be familiar with, and as soon as I was chewing, my mouth didn't know where to put itself.

Scoff Chocolate Fudge! Yes Please! Is there anyway I can get any more sent to me? I literally devoured this stuff, and I'm not even a fudge lover. Textually, they were melt in your mouth, the chocolate flavouring took the edge of the fudge, that I usually don't like. They even smelt heavenly, as soon as you open the cellophane!
These are 100% highly recommended by me.

 And lastly Wholeplus Hot Pot Porridge sachet. The porridge was topped with vanilla spice, which sounded divine.
Simply pour it into a mug and add boiling water. Simple and tasty. I have to say, whilst I'm very fond of this being in my box, as I was eating this porridge on a warm May morning - I couldn't help thinking how easy it would be to flavour my own porridge oats this way...or however I wanted really. But if this hadn't been in my box, I would never have come to that conclusion to spice up my breakfast.

All in all, it was a wonderful first box! I can't thank TVK enough for running this service, and I urge any UK vegans to jump on this train.
 I eagerly await next months box, and I will complete another review then.

Memory Lane

Today, over on Veronica Varlows blog - http://dangerdame.com/2014/05/15/lets-play-a-game-a-picture-and-a-wild-rock-and-roll-life-tour-story/ - she asked us all to pick a photo, and to tell the story behind it. This is a wonderful way to remember experiences you may have forgotten. So this is mine, and it's related to a photoshoot.

                                        ----------------------------------------------------
Near my house, about a 20 minute walk away, lies Piercefield Mansion. It is an abandoned, derelict building, which used to house some of the richest people in town. The most explored section, and my personal favourite is the servants quaters. It's attatched to the stables. Everything is over grown with nettles and trees, are breaking in through the window panes.
Stable doors with rought iron are hanging from rusted hinges...fire places stand in crumbling walls, fire replaced with wild flowers.
One evening, having not used my camera in a long time, I roped in some friends to join me in a photoshoot. In the setting sun, we traipsed through woodland, and fields full of sheep to reach the falling walls. Ignoring every 'keep out' sign and every 'dangerous building' warning. Covered in nettle stings, and warm from the trek, we made our way to a previously unexplored part of the mansion.
It was so overgrown. And I basked in the knowledge of how long ago it was since someone else had stood in this building. The pink paint was chipping off the wall, the roof was nothing but wooden slats, which was filtering in bursts of the lowering sunlight. There were stairs that led to a door, which opened onto nothing; the second story floor having fallen through. An upturned spring bed frame lay in the brambles, and further on a stand alone bath, filled with rain water.
And this is where we did our shoot. I got some truly lovely shots. And we were all overcome with the feeling of solitude and knew that we were stood in a part of someones history that would never be remembered.
(For anyone curious as to the final photos I took, you can see them here;https://www.facebook.com/media...
Or more photos of just the building itself here; https://www.facebook.com/jade.... )
