Tarot Thursday

Todays one card pull for you guys!!

The Tower

For those of you in 'The Parlour', this card has been coming up a lot for us recently.

So, The Tower is viewed as more of a shadow card in the deck.

The card represents sudden change. A shaking of your foundations. Sometimes things need to crumble down, so you can rebuild stronger and better. It can symbolize the shattering of illusions, and a complete breakthrough.
~ Like the death card in the tarot deck, The Tower is not telling you your life is going to be destroyed, it reminds us that we sometimes need to lose things, to see a bit clearer, and to bring in the new.

I hope you enjoy my tarot thursdays, pop back next week for the last one before christmas!
I plan to pop back soon, to share a new spread with you lovely lot.

Much Love,
Jade

Tarot Thursday

Things are getting a bit festive here in the Addis household.
I LOVE christmas!
Yule is my favourite time in the pagan calender to celebrate - it brings people together, keeps the dark and cold from bringing us down, and promotes a load of baking.

Sat in my freshly decorated living room, with my twinkly lights on the tree, with spicy candles glowing, pinecones and tinsel everywhere, I poured myself a cup of tea, and did a one card pull for all my followers.
That's right - You.
If you read this blog, then this pull is for you, the spirits are sending me guidance to pass onto you.

King of Swords

You may need to exercise judgement, power and force of will in the near future. This king represents clear thinking, authority, the truth and intellectual power.
What with the hectic season upon us, the King tells us we need to find a way through the chaos to calm clarity. We must heed others advice, and listen to what they are saying to uncover truths.
When you're debating whether you can afford that last present, think of the King of Swords and what he'd tell you!

I plan to be back soon, with a blog showing the role of the ancient winter solstice and Yule celebrations, in our current modern day christmas.
You might learn something new, and have more appreciation for some of that tacky goodness.

See you all soon.

Tarot Thursday

I cannot get into a space to pull for you guys.
I'm very sorry, but something is stopping me. The time is not right perhaps, or maybe the spirits just have nothing to say.
I waited a few days to see if I could get some pull to do a reading for you.

But you cannot force those from the Otherside to send you messages.
As soon as it feels right I will pull for you lovely lot.

I hope you're having a fabulous weekend!

Tarot Thursday

As of today Tarot Thursday is back!!
Regular, weekly tarot guidance you can rely on.

Check back here every Thursday to find a fresh pull or spread pulled just for my lovely followers.

Today I chose my druid animal oracle deck - It's been calling to me for a while, so I thought I'd see what these cards had to say for you.

Here goes;

Goose
 - Geadh

Vigilance. Parenthood. Productive Power.

Sometimes the goose shows up to tell you that you are ready to start a family...this is a big scary step, but the goose takes  parenthood in her stride.
The goose allows you to open up your productive power, secure in the knowledge that your relationship or family will provide a stable environment to act as a crucible for your creativity.
The gooses ability to raise a family, yet fly high, shows us that it is possible to be both grounded and spiritual in our daily lives.

Tarot Thursday

I'm sat here in my snuggly dressing gown with a mug of Chai - feeling awful!
Not the sick kind-of awful (I haven't suffered an illness since turning vegan ten months ago!)
But I feel so bad for neglecting you lovely lot last week.

I missed Tarot Thursday, so this week, I'm here to give you a full Compass Spread Reading.

I drew these cards out in my sun room, with rain pouring all around, banging on the see-through roof. Dripping down the window panes, a solitary candle on the windowsill....

Card 1 - The card in the center, represents you.

Here I pulled;
The King Of Cups.

This card says that your current state is emotional and creative. The King of cups is restrained and controlled in his emotions. You are in perfect balance with intellect and emotion. This card represents strong bonds and relationships based on understanding. This card tells you, you are in control! It suggests you remain compassionate and aid in counselling others.

Card 2 - Is the card to the right, the East, which represents New Beginnings.

Seven Of Pentacles
It is a time of healing, spiritually but also financially. Material wealth and mental reward are heading your way. Past investments are about to pay off for you. Profit will come from your vision, and the effort you've put in.

Card 3 - The bottom card, is the South - This shows the source of your passion.

The Knight Of Cups

Court cards often represent people coming into your life. This card is often known as The Knight in Shining armour. It is a card of romance, and charm. The Knight of Cups is a more feminine knight, being more intune with his emotions, and trusting his intuitions. Someone or something is going to emotionally benefit your life. This knight is attractive to everyone, he is in love with love itself.

Card 4 - The West, represents your dreams, and unconcious mystery.

The Heirophant

This card suggests you wish to follow tradition, to be taught the old ways. In his basic form the Heirophant is a teacher, a guide...he is your mentor. Someone who can help you realise your dreams. In my deck, The WildWood Tarot, this card is titled 'The Ancestor', and I think this is very fitting. The Rider Waite tarot shows more of a leading religious figure for orthodox practice. However if you think about how much we have to learn from those who came before us, even from those within our family tree...there is a vast amount of knowledge to learn.

Card 5 - The card on top, The Norths, shows where your wisdom comes from.

Eight Of Swords

Generally this card is more of a negative shadow card. But in this spot in the Compass Spread, we are more than likely talking about past events. So no need to fret.
This card says that you have learnt from your struggles. You have broken down the wall of your own mind, and become stronger from it. You have endured at your own hands....never do it again.

-------------------------------

My vegan kind box arrived this week, so a review of that will be up soon.
Aswell as an account of the lingere I've bought from 'Boux Avenue' this month. My first visit to the store went exceedingly well, and it has rekindled my love with sexy lingere.

Keep your eyes open for these, and maybe a special recipe will be shared aswell.

Enjoy your week my loves.

Tarot Thursday

Sorry for my radio silence - work has been really hectic. But I'm here as always for tarot thursday. To share some wisdom from the other side with you.

Today, I did a variation of your typical three card spread.

The card in the middle is the first card you lay down, card number one. In this spread it asks the question; Who Am I?
Who are you?
It represents your current state, or maybe a core foundation to your life.

Card 2 which is the card laid to the left asks, Where do I come from?
A bit more than just asking about the past, here you are asking for a specific factor of your past, that is going to affect the you now, and the you of the future.

The final card asks, Where Am I Heading?
What does the future hold?

For your first card I pulled; The Eight of Swords

You feel trapped. But you are trapped in your own imagination, by your own perceptions and thoughts. Remember your mind is your own worst enemy. Now is not the time to make decisions, your views are compromised. You need to take off that blindfold, and see things differently. Clear your mind, and focus on what is truth, and what is important. There is a clear path before you, if only you look to see it.

The second card, which is where you have come from, was; The Ace Of Swords

Aces symbolise new beginnings, fresh starts. You have a strong heart, and have had to make hard choices. You've found the strength to use your potential. You've had a significant 'aha' moment of clarity and breakthrough, that has helped shape your future.

And lastly, but by no means least - the future spot.
Where are you heading?
I was scared to pull this, in case I got a really negative, shadow card for you all. But I shouldn't have worried.
You all have wonderful things in front of you...all of you.

The Empress

Pure and wild creativity will run in your soul. You will be unlimited in creative potential! There is an element of nurture and motherly care, coming from you. Taking charge, being compassionate, and passionate.

I adore this card, and am lucky enough to pull it often for myself.

                                                                   --------------------------

This weekend I WILL have up my blog on how to pull your cards for a reading. It's all typed up, I just need to take the adjoining photos, to make it easier to explain.

Hope you've all had a wonderful week.

Tarot Thursday

This weeks Tarot Thursday is bought to you courtesy of Brian Frouds Faerie Oracle...

And my cat.

She is my familiar after all, and full of her own type of magic, so I trusted her to do this for you lovely lot.

When I turned the card over, I couldn't help but smile.
Maybe Socks did a reading for herself, more than you guys!
But it's a good message that we all need to hear sometimes.

So, whilst I sat by with a cup of tea, measuring whisker to candle flames in my mind, Socks pulled;

O! That Gnome

A trickster - creative chaos - wild gifts.
Sometimes we need to break habits and patterns, reasonable risks will be rewarded in the near future...maybe even unreasonable ones. Look for the unexpected, and BE the unexpected.

Tarot Thursday

Hello, my darlings.
Welcome to another Tarot Thursday.

Yesterday, around dusk, I headed through the woods, to a place that holds many memories for me. A spot on the riverbank, that has played witness to so many moments of my teenage years.

Love, sex, friendships, alcohol experimentation, photoshoots, escape, band get-together, crazy nature parties, and quite a bit of heart break.
I didn't really head there on purpose, I just let me feet go where they felt they needed to, and I ended up in this beautiful spot. Memories flooded over me.
The wind was strong on the waters edge.
Herons and gulls stood in the clay-like mud, fishing just beneath me.
Soft bird lullabies mingled with the sound of the rushing River Severn.
And, it smelt like the sea.
That salt up your nostrils, fishy, wonderful scent of the sea.

Beautiful, lazy dragon-flies were my guide through the forest. As I stopped to take some photos of them, A few of them fluttered up into my hair, perching like delicate ornaments on my head.
Nature was definitely on my side today.

The woodland was ripe with wild blackberries...the temptation of which, I could not resist!
And with dyed fingers, and the sweet nectar of the berries still on my tongue, I asked what guidance I could pass on to you all.

Seven of Swords

This is the second time I've pulled this card for you lovely lot.
I'm hugging you all right now. Times are getting complicated and challenging.
Traditionally the seven of swords holds meanings of deception and betrayal. Now is a time to watch your back.
Also there is the possibility of ungrounded fears and confusion leading you to insecurities. Guilt or delusions might be causing you to judge yourself to harshly.
So watch your back, but also have your back. Take responsibility but don't torture yourself over silly fears and imaginary guilt.

It's strange pulling a shadow card, when you are in such a space of content peace. But the joy I felt in the woods, and at my faithful riverbank, were only temporary. Time's of reprieve are important, but they cannot shield us from the reality of human life.

Stay strong.
We are all in this together.

Tarot Thursday

Welcome back to Tarot Thursday my lovely followers.

This weeks one card pull comes to you from the patio in my back garden.
It's a good thing I'm OK being known as the weird witchy woman by all the neighbours.

Today I pulled for you;

The Queen of Swords

This was the first card I ever pulled for myself with this deck. And now I pull it for you.
And again we see the trend of Swords for all my followers.
Queens are caretakers, they nourish your dreams and life. The Queen of Swords seeks knowledge, she represents the all seeing, someone who tells it how it is.
This card says it is time for seperation. It maybe painful but it is time to break old bonds, and find new rivers to swim in. There will be joy passed the darkness and loss. The queen will take care of you. The truth must be spoken.

For me when I pulled this card, I know it was about certain friends in my life. Maybe it's the same for you, friendships, but it could be partners, it could even be family. It might be the change away from a job you love.

But whatever it is, this card promises you will get through the pain, you need to cut out those things that are not working for you to allow better things into your life.

Tarot Thursday.

Todays Tarot Thursday comes to you from a rainy hill top, known as Gray Hill.
I roped in a friend for a trek to the top, hoping to re-find the sacred stone circle at its point.
However despite reaching the top, due to the heavens opening down upon us, visibility got difficult, and things got very wet.

So we gave up the search for today, to be resumed in better weather.

I did make time to stop and do a quick reading for you in this magical place.
I'll not lie to you it was very rushed, with rain droplets falling onto my cards, I was very worried about water damage.

For you lovely lot, I pulled

Seven of Swords
I feel like we've been getting a lot of swords lately. Times of struggle, and challenges are upon us.

When the weather improves, well...if the weather improves, I will go and do a reading for you inside the stone circle. A reading that will be filled with ancient wisdom and magic.

I've also been naughty and ordered 'Brian Frouds' Faerie Oracle Deck - so maybe next Thursday you will have a reading using that instead, for a bit of change.

Tarot Thursday

Welcome back.
Today is Tarot Thursday!
As you'll have seen yesterday, todays reading was brought to you from the middle of the woods. Nature fuelled this pull, and mother earth was the resting place for my deck.

So, drum roll please....

Knight of Pentacles

Court cards often represent people coming into your life, but the attributes I'm about to mention could refer to a new person around the corner, or it could be simply yourself.
Knights are about moving and action. Pentacles are about money, and material worth.
This card says that you are growing a dream. The card breathes an air of success, specifically financially. As a person, this card is someone loyal and committed.

It's telling you to take that next step, take action towards your dream...everything will work out fine.

The WildWood Is Alive And Thriving

Hello my loves.

As I write this to you, I have moss clinging to my hair, tree bark between my toes, and my heart full of wilderness.
I went into the woods today,
Far from the beaten track.

I climbed  and danced my way along fallen trees,
Soaking in the feeling of the wind on my skin.

I went to the woods to perform a bit of magic that the wonderful Veronica Varlow taught me, magic to get my foot in the door!

I took my deck with me.
Seriously fellow tarot readers! If you have not yet gone adventuring with your deck into the wild, DO IT!
Do it now!
Find a spot,
Get comfortable.
Take in the sound of the birds, the small wildlife rustling nearby in the undergrowth. Watch the sunlight filtering through the leaves, as it creates gently swaying shadows down around you.

Feel the solid earth beneath your bare feet.
Get connected.
Feel the power of nature around you, and use it.
Push all of this raw energy into doing a fantastic reading.

I did a reading for myself, using the Compass Spread.

Now, this reading was super positive. The universe is practically screaming at me, that all the steps I've taken recently will pay off, and the future is bright.

Card 1 - Ten Of Cups
Card 2 - The Sun
Card 3 - Page Of Cups
Card 4 - Ace Of Wands
Card 5 - The World

Any reading that features 'The World' gives me butterflies.

It is the last card in the major arcana, number 21. It is all about being in the here and now. Success, euphoria and completion! Being alive in the moment - And an end to a challenge, and now a new beginning!

Don't worry witch babies, I did a reading out in the WildWood for you aswell.
But you'll have to wait till Tarot Thursday, tomorrow for yours.

Check back then.
I'll see you here tomorrow.

Tarot Thursday

Back to a one card pull for you wonderful people this week.
Your reading this week is;

Nine of Bows
(Wands)

This is more of a shadow card I'm afraid...I think it's the first one I've pulled for you, since starting Tarot Thursdays.

The Nine of Wands says that in the near future you will be put through a test of faith, and you will need resilience, more than normal. We are reminded that things cannot be completed without first facing the challenge. If we look inside ourselves we are able to see that these challenges may be of our own working, through past mistakes, and negative energies we've put out into the world. But the Nine of Wands tells us that to move on to the next stage, we must not look bitterly upon these mistakes or failures. We must be positive and good-natured to get passed lifes challenges.

And to quote my guide book;

"...reminds us to treat the challenges of the wildwood with patience and compassion, making each scar or wound suffered during the struggle, a badge of honour."

Tarot Thursday.

It's tarot thursday!
And I'm on time!

So this week, I simply asked what my fellow witchbabies and blog followers needed to know for next week.

This is the card I pulled for you;

Balance

In your everyday deck that's Temperance.

This card is literally all about finding balance, it's about taking everything you already have and making something wonderful from it. You need to balance work and play, and find a rhythm you are comfortable with.
The presence of this card in any spread, can represent a catalyst coming your way, a great oppurtunity turning up on your doorstep.

So keep those eyes peeled bunnies! Something may come a'knocking.

A belated Tarot Thursday

Hello Blog Bunnies!

Welcome to your belated tarot thursday!

So as I mentioned in my previous blog, I laid down my tarot deck in favour of my Druid Animal Oracle deck this week.
It has beautiful imagery, you shall soon see.
And I also decided to do a different spread for you guys.

It is called the Spread of the Elements.

Each directional card relates to North, South, East, and West, and their correlating elements and emotions. So West, is the water element - Water relates to your emotional and creative state.

This spread is used to gain insights into aspects of yourself that may need development or balancing. It's a great spread for personal growth.

So,
Behold.

Above is the spread I pulled for you lovely readers.

Card 1 - is an overall representation of you.

Here I pulled; The Blackbird.

It is actually the first card in the deck. It revolves around enchantment, and the gateway between worlds. The Blackbird tells us, we must remember to listen to the song of our inner soul sometimes and not concentrate so much on the external world. You will discover new depths to yourself, hidden motivations and potential. And you will heal yourself.

Card 2 - East. Is about the intellectual side of yourself.

Here I pulled; The Ram.

Working with the ram as your ally will help you find the inner strength you need to succed. When thinking, and using your intellect, think upon your roots. Where have you come from? How have you grown from this? The Ram signifies a breakthrough - here perhaps a breakthrough in your way of thinking, and the perspective you have on the world.

Card 3 - South. Is about your sensuality.

Here I pulled; The Wolf.

What a wonderful card to have in such a poweful, passionate position. In order to learn and grow we must sometimes cross boundaries, and take risks outside of the norm. With the Wolf there is a huge sense of stability, and faithfulness. Learn your deepest self, and shadow desires, and set them free.

Card 4 - West. Is all about your emotional state

Here I pulled; The Cat.

We are a quiet observer of situations. And have the ability to not be judgemental rashly. Cats sit languidly for hours, simply observing. The apperance of this card, suggests it may be time to move. If you have something playing on your mind or upsetting you - speak out. You are wise, and you have watched things unfold, now share what you have learned.

And Finally...

Card 5 - North. Revolves around your spiritual self.

Here I pulled; The Bull.

The presence of the bull suggests the oppurtunity for a rich and abundant life. Spiritually you are on a road, perhaps a road of recovery, that will lead you to spiritual well-being. To find wealth in the real world, you must first find it in your heart. You make be working tirelessly. Think of the bull and he will help give you the knowledge that your work is worth it, and you should keep pushing through.

Ta-Da...
There you go.
Something a little different, and a little more indepth.
Hope you found it somewhat helpful - or atleast interesting.
This did take me a fairly long time to put together.
